Who and what qualifies a person to be a Professional Skimboarder Competitively?
Currently, the answer to that question is changing in a good way.
First we need to understand the current rules from each Organization. Below are what I could find/ Recall on the current rules.
Under Skim USA rules there is no rule.
Under the United Skim Tour there is technically no rule or guidelines that I could find.
Premier Skim - Currently our tour is building our pro division. We are working toward inviting current professionals for the 2023 season. If the tour doesn't sell out we will be requesting to see a riders history with the sport.
My opinion is that most riders should have atleast a years experience competing in a Semi-Pro Division and placing a minimum of top 10 before competing in pro. This shows that they have the respect of how to compete and the proper skills to step into the professional division. Our sport is currently small and growing but laying out these guidlines will help riders take the proper stepping stones to compete in the pro division.
Whats your opinion?
